Another Tuesday, another list from The Broke and the Bookish. I really like the theme this week. It really got me thinking about all the books that I love that don’t come up as often as others.a
Ten Books I Really Love but Feel Like I Haven’t Talked About Enough
- John Grisham, just in general. I’ve read just about all of his books, and I adore him. I don’t think that’s been properly expressed on this blog.
- The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. A very sweet start to a great series.
- Franny and Zooey by JD Salinger. My favorite Salinger.
- Boy, Snow, Bird by Helen Oyeyemi. I really enjoyed this book when I read it last year. She is now on my Automatic Buy list.
- Gilead by Marilynne Robinson. A favorite of last year.
- Fables. My first comic series.
- Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed. Advice columns are amazing and she’s the best.
- Lady Audley’s Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon. One of the best classics I’ve ever read.
- The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Good guilty pleasure read.
- Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops by Jennifer Campbell. So funny.
Fables is so enjoyable! I’ve been meaning to read some Oyeyemi soon.

OMG I swore my heart did a bit of a dance when I saw you mention Tiny Beautiful Things. It’s one of my favourite books of all-time and definitely ranks very, very high on my non-fiction book list. SO BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN. Just ughhh so good. I really should’ve included that in my own list! 😛

Great list! I love Fables as well. I read quite a few of them about 6 years ago. I can’t remember where I left off reading anymore though.

Franny and Zooey is a great book. I love Catcher in the Rye, but this one is really good too. Great list!

Thanks! I think I like Salinger’s shorter works better than Catcher in the Rye. He’s so much better to me with this and Nine Stories and Roof Beam.

Home is my friend’s favorite! I haven’t gotten around to reading them yet, but Robinson is an auto-buy author for me so they’re sitting in my shelf waiting for me!

I’m only familiar with The Da Vinci Code. I’ve wanted to read it since high school, but you know – so many books!

It’s really, really good! I think because it’s so long it’s hard to marathon though. It was good and I liked it, but after six or seven trades, I really felt like I needed a break before going back to it. I’m only halfway through now, and it’s still great though!

I’ve heard of a few of these but I think the ones that pique my interest most are Fables and the Bookshop one because a) fairy tale comic, yes please, and b) relating to retail problems is always exciting.
Thanks for checking mine out, too! c:
